31-Year-Old Factory Worker Arrested for Sexual Assault on 8-Year-Old Girl in North Delhi

Police reported on Friday that a 31-year-old man was apprehended for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in outer North Delhi's Samaypur Badli area after she entered his room while playing.

The young victim managed to escape after fighting back against her attacker by pulling his hair. She immediately ran to inform her mother about the assault, who subsequently contacted authorities.

According to officials, a PCR call about the incident was received on November 18. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered that local residents had already brought both the victim and the accused to the police station.

The accused, identified as Nagar, is an unmarried laborer from Paudi Garhwal district in Uttarakhand who works at a steel factory in the Samaypur area.

Police investigation revealed that the victim lives with her parents in a rented accommodation within a four-story building. The incident occurred when she entered the accused's room while playing with other children who had dispersed.

An officer stated that the accused grabbed the girl's hand and forced her onto a bed. However, the child resisted by shouting and pulling his hair, eventually managing to escape and alert her mother.

The minor was subsequently taken to Burari Hospital for medical examination.

Based on preliminary findings, authorities have registered an FIR under section 64 (rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Police confirmed the accused has been arrested and further investigation is ongoing.
