Al-Falah University functions under the Haryana State Private University Act.
New Delhi:
The National Medical Commission (NMC) is developing new regulatory guidelines for medical institutions and practitioners nationwide. These directives will instruct medical professionals to "avoid anti-national activities in workplaces" and maintain appropriate social accountability standards.
This initiative follows the apprehension of multiple doctors from Al-Falah University who allegedly had connections to the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror organization suspected of orchestrating the November 10 explosion near Delhi's Red Fort.
According to NMC officials, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board is currently formulating the advisory that will be distributed to all medical institutions across the country. The guidelines will emphasize professional obligations, national health priorities, and expected behavioral standards within medical educational environments.
A high-ranking NMC representative informed NDTV that Al-Falah Medical College's future will be determined by the findings of the current national-level investigation. "Our final decision will be based on the Haryana government's determination and guidance from the Centre," the representative stated.
Al-Falah University, which offers various non-medical programs as well, operates under the Haryana State Private University Act. The state government will make the ultimate decision regarding Al-Falah University's status as a recognized medical educational institution.
The medical college, which received its operational approval in 2019, has filled all 150 MBBS positions for the 2025-26 academic session. The NMC has provided assurance that students' academic futures will not be compromised regardless of the investigation outcomes. "The Commission will take measures to protect innocent medical students," the official added.
The Enforcement Directorate has taken Al-Falah Group chairman Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui into custody under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. His arrest followed an investigation that included searches of premises connected to the institution. The financial probe has now expanded to include the Al-Falah Trust, affiliated organizations, and the administrative and financial operations of the university.
