NEET Aspirant Dies By Suicide Over 'Harassment' By Coaching Staff In Maharashtra

A 17-year-old NEET aspirant from Maharashtra's Chandrapur has died by suicide following alleged harassment by staff at his coaching institute.

The student, who was enrolled at the residential coaching facility "Janta Career Launcher" in Chandrapur, took his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his hotel room on Thursday night.

According to sources, the victim had previously informed his parents about being harassed by staff members at the coaching institute. Following the tragedy, the victim's father filed a formal complaint with authorities.

Police have registered a case against four employees of the coaching institute and launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student's death.

At the time of reporting, Janta Career Launcher had not provided any official response regarding the incident.

This tragedy comes approximately two months after another NEET-related suicide in the same district. In that case, 19-year-old Anurag Anil Borkar, who had achieved an impressive 99.99 percentile and secured All India Rank 1475 in the OBC category in the 2025 examination, took his own life.

Despite being eligible for admission to a medical college in Uttar Pradesh, Borkar reportedly left a suicide note stating he did not wish to pursue a career in medicine.
