Security agencies are currently tracing the Jaish handler involved in the Delhi blast case.
New Delhi:
A Pakistan-based Jaish handler, using the pseudonym 'Hanzulla,' shared bomb-making videos with Dr. Muzamil Shakeel, one of the accused doctors in the blast near Delhi's Red Fort that claimed 15 lives, according to sources. Preliminary investigations suggest 'Hanzulla' is not the handler's real name.
Sources noted that Jaish posters discovered in Jammu and Kashmir's Nowgam in October, which triggered the terror investigation, featured the name 'Commander Hanzulla bhai.'
Security agencies investigating the Delhi blast are working to identify this Jaish handler.
According to sources, the Jaish handler contacted Shakeel through Maulvi Irfan Ahmed, a cleric from Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian who radicalized the doctors and established the white-collar terror module. The Maulvi first recruited Shakeel, who worked at Faridabad's Al-Falah University and whose medical license has since been revoked. Shakeel subsequently met and recruited other like-minded doctors at the university: Muzaffar Ahmad, Adeel Ahmad Rather, and Shaheen Saeed.
Shakeel stands accused of transporting explosives and handing over the white Hyundai i20 car used in the Delhi blast to Umar Mohammad (alias Umar-un-Nabi), the suicide bomber.
The terror module, believed to be connected to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed, had been planning the attack in the national capital for months. Sources revealed the group was preparing 200 powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to target high-profile areas in Delhi, Gurugram, and Faridabad. In addition to the i20 used in the Delhi blast, the suspected suicide bomber and his associates had acquired two more vehicles from Delhi.
The doctors utilized the secure messaging app Telegram to coordinate their terror plans, using food-related code words to avoid detection. Their code language included "biryani" (referring to explosive material) and "daawat" (indicating a specific event).
A white Hyundai i20 exploded near the Red Fort last week, with DNA tests confirming Umar as the suicide bomber.
The incident occurred on the same day that 2,900 kg of explosives were discovered just 50 km from the capital, in neighboring Haryana's Faridabad. Sources suggest Umar likely panicked and triggered the blast after investigators arrested two key module members, Shakeel and Rather—both Kashmir residents—and seized the explosives.
Al-Falah University under scrutiny
Al-Falah University in Faridabad has become central to investigations into the white-collar terror module and money laundering after its connections to the Delhi blast terrorist emerged. The university's founder, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, was arrested earlier this week by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a terror financing-linked money laundering case. This followed two FIRs filed recently by the Delhi Police Crime Branch against Al-Falah University regarding alleged cheating and forgery concerning accreditation documents.
Siddiqui was detained under the criminal provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
At least 25 locations connected to Al-Falah University, including its headquarters in Okhla, were raided. The searches yielded over 48 lakhs in cash, multiple digital devices, and documentary evidence, which were seized.
The Faridabad police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Friday to investigate Al-Falah University's activities.
