A family in Meerut experienced a shocking incident when a doctor used a common household adhesive to treat their toddler's facial wound instead of proper medical suturing.

The family reported that the situation could have resulted in serious complications if the adhesive had contacted the child's eye.
In Meerut, Sardar Jaswinder Singh's two-and-a-half-year-old son Manraj suffered an injury near his eye after colliding with a table corner. The worried family immediately rushed the toddler to nearby Bhagyashree Hospital for treatment.
According to Singh, the attending physician instructed them to purchase Fevikwik, a popular instant adhesive costing just 5 rupees, which he then applied directly to the wound instead of providing appropriate medical stitches. When the young patient expressed pain, the doctor dismissed his concerns, suggesting it was merely nervousness and assuring the family the discomfort would soon dissipate.
Manraj's mother, Irwin Kaur, inquired about the necessity of a tetanus vaccination but was informed it wasn't required. When the child's pain persisted into the following morning, the family sought a second opinion at Lokpriya Hospital.
Medical professionals at Lokpriya Hospital spent three hours carefully removing the adhesive before properly closing the wound with four sutures. They informed the worried parents that the situation could have become critical had the glue entered the child's eye.
The family has filed a formal complaint with Meerut Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ashok Kataria. In response, Dr. Kataria confirmed that an investigative committee has been established to examine the incident, and appropriate action will follow once their inquiry concludes.
