Apple has expanded its AppleCare+ protection plans for Indian customers, introducing more versatile options including AppleCare+ with theft and loss coverage for iPhone devices.
The company now provides monthly and annual subscription alternatives, giving users enhanced flexibility in how they protect their Apple devices with the ability to maintain coverage for as long as desired.
According to Apple, these updated plans are designed to make device protection more accessible and cost-effective. Kaiann Drance, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, stated, "AppleCare gives our customers peace of mind knowing that their products are protected and supported by Apple experts."
Drance further explained, "With today's updates in India, we're making it easier and more affordable to get trusted protection, including access to our most complete coverage for iPhone."
The newly launched AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss plan covers up to two incidents of theft or loss annually. Beyond providing security if an iPhone goes missing, this plan encompasses all the standard benefits of regular AppleCare+.
Subscribers receive round-the-clock priority support, battery replacement services, and unlimited accidental damage repairs using genuine Apple components at Apple Stores and authorized service centers. The Theft and Loss plan pricing begins at Rs 799.
Customers can browse these protection options and purchase plans directly through the Settings application on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Coverage activation is immediate, regardless of whether they opt for a monthly or annual subscription.
The enhancement of AppleCare+ in India coincides with Apple's broader efforts to strengthen health and safety features globally.
In a recent announcement, Apple revealed that the Apple Watch's new hypertension notification feature could alert over one million users about indications of chronic high blood pressure – a condition affecting approximately 1.3 billion adults worldwide.
This innovative feature utilizes machine learning technology to detect early signs of hypertension by analyzing blood vessel responses over a 30-day period.
