Omar Abdullah Condemns Collective Blame on Kashmiris Following Terror Acts by Few Individuals

Omar Abdullah has expressed deep concerns regarding the community profiling of Kashmiris following recent terror incidents.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has stated that terrorist actions committed by a small number of individuals have tarnished the reputation of all Kashmir valley residents. This widespread profiling has caused many Kashmiris to withdraw from interactions with people from outside the region.

Several suspects in the recently uncovered white collar terror module—which included medical professionals—responsible for the suicide bombing near Delhi's Red Fort were identified as being from Jammu and Kashmir.

"A few individuals bear responsibility for these acts. However, an environment is being fostered that implicates all of us," Abdullah remarked.

He noted that the Central government had promised in 2019 that "everything would stop," yet violence has persisted even after Jammu and Kashmir was reorganized into two Union Territories.

"What assessment can we make of the present circumstances? If terrorist attacks aren't occurring in Delhi, they're happening here in Kashmir," he observed, adding that bombings and civilian casualties continue unabated.

"We desire an end to this violence. Kashmir has witnessed extensive bloodshed... In the current environment, parents are reluctant to send their children outside Kashmir. We face suspicion everywhere. Kashmiris are being unfairly stigmatized," the Chief Minister explained.

"Consider the Delhi incident. A handful of people are responsible, yet an atmosphere is developing that assigns collective guilt. Driving a vehicle with Jammu and Kashmir registration in Delhi is now viewed as suspicious. I myself hesitate before using my car. I'm uncertain who might stop me to question my origins and purpose," Abdullah said.

His father, Farooq Abdullah, sparked controversy on November 15 with comments about Operation Sindoor following the terror attack near Delhi's Red Fort that claimed 13 lives. The senior Abdullah had called for examination into why the doctors had chosen "this path".

"Question those responsible about why these doctors took this course of action. What motivated them? This requires comprehensive investigation and analysis," Abdullah stated.

He expressed concern regarding the possibility of another Operation Sindoor occurring as a consequence of the recent terror module discovery.

The investigation into the white collar terror network has broadened, with officials examining the financial operations and administration of Faridabad's Al-Falah Medical College, where all the terrorists operating under the guise of medical practitioners were employed prior to the police dismantling the sophisticated network.
