Death toll in Delhi suicide blast increased to 15 on Monday.
New Delhi:
The Union government issued an advisory on Tuesday to all private satellite television channels, urging restraint while broadcasting news related to the Delhi Red Fort attack.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting stated in its advisory that it has observed some news channels broadcasting content about alleged individuals involved in Red Fort blasts, justifying acts of violence, and sharing information videos on explosive material production.
The advisory emphasized that such broadcasts could unintentionally encourage or incite violence, disrupt public order, and create national security risks.
Television channels are advised to exercise the highest level of discretion and sensitivity when reporting on these matters.
"Broadcasters must ensure strict compliance with the Programme and Advertising Code under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995. Such broadcasts may violate the Cable Television Network Rules, specifically Rules 6(1)(d), 6(1)(e), and 6(l)(h)," the advisory noted.
Following the Delhi Red Fort blast executed by the Jaish-e-Mohammad module in Faridabad, Intelligence agencies have been monitoring online propaganda material.
During security review meetings, senior officials have highlighted the importance of monitoring news coverage and online propaganda material.
Multiple Pakistan-based social media accounts are disseminating false information online with the aim of radicalizing Indian youth.
These accounts selectively use television clips to create misleading narratives.
The Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) has been attempting to conduct a large-scale recruitment campaign across India and establish modules similar to those found in Faridabad.
Investigations into the Delhi blasts continue, confirming that the Jaish-e-Mohammad's Faridabad module carried out the attack that resulted in more than 13 fatalities.
