The NDA alliance secured a commanding victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, claiming 202 seats in the 243-member legislative body.

In Patna, following the overwhelming success of the NDA in the Bihar Assembly elections, JDU leader Nitish Kumar will be sworn in as Chief Minister on Thursday at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

Sources indicate that the ceremony is being organized as a significant demonstration of NDA strength, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, prominent Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers from all NDA-governed states expected to attend.

The Patna administration has begun preparations for this grand ceremony, with district officials and police leadership meeting to finalize essential arrangements.

During the two-phase Assembly elections held earlier this month, the NDA coalition achieved a remarkable victory. The alliance secured 202 seats total, with the BJP winning 89 seats and the JDU obtaining 85. The LJP (Ram Vilas) led by Chirag Paswan made a substantial contribution to the NDA's success, winning 19 seats.

NDTV has previously reported that approximately 15 ministerial positions in the new cabinet may be allocated to the BJP, while around 14 cabinet positions may be assigned to JDU MLAs. The LJP (Ram Vilas) might receive three positions in the new administration led by Nitish Kumar. Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha and Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Morcha are each expected to receive one cabinet position.

According to sources, the formal procedure for electing Nitish Kumar as the NDA coalition leader will be completed today.

This will mark Nitish Kumar's tenth oath-taking as Chief Minister. The JDU leader first became Chief Minister in 2005 and is recognized for initiating Bihar's development journey. He succeeded RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in the leadership role.

Nitish Kumar holds the distinction of being Bihar's longest-serving Chief Minister, though his tenure was briefly interrupted when he stepped aside from the leadership position following the 2014 Lok Sabha election, elevating Jitan Ram Manjhi, his former close associate who is now a political opponent.
