New Delhi:
The terrorist who detonated himself in Delhi had secured accommodation in Haryana's Nuh shortly before the November 10/11 explosion, according to sources. Umar Mohammad, reportedly connected to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist organization, was operating the i20 vehicle that exploded near the Red Fort, resulting in 13 fatalities and approximately two dozen injuries.
Delhi Police has been conducting extensive searches across Nuh for the past five days, with a team positioned outside the Hidayat Colony yesterday.
Investigation into the terrorist's movements has uncovered that he occupied the rented accommodation in the colony for approximately 10 days prior to executing the attack on November 10.
Sources indicate Mohammad departed from his rented quarters in his i20 vehicle containing explosives on the day of the attack. CCTV equipment at a diagnostics facility in Nuh recorded his vehicle entering the colony. However, authorities have not yet determined when the vehicle exited the colony or which route the terrorist followed.
The residence on the Delhi-Alwar road where Mohammad stayed belongs to the sister-in-law of Shoaib, an electrical worker at Al Falah University in Faridabad, where the terror suspects were employed. Shoaib, who arranged the accommodation, is currently in police custody.
Sources reveal that neither local residents nor intelligence operatives in Nuh were aware of his presence in the property.
Two earlier CCTV recordings confirm Mohammad's presence in Nuh before the attack—one showed him passing through a toll plaza in Firozpur Jhirka. Another captured him attempting to withdraw funds from an ATM on the Biwan-Pahadi Road. He had also visited Mewat in Nuh, during which he potentially established contact with several MBBS students from his educational institution, according to sources.
Three of Mohammad's associates—Shaheen Saeed, Muzammil Shakeel, and Adil Rather, all medical professionals at Al Falah University in Faridabad—have been detained in connection with the explosion. An investigation continues to determine whether they were planning to execute multiple explosions throughout the National Capital Region (NCR).
Law enforcement recovered nearly 3,000 kg of explosives and bomb-manufacturing materials from properties rented by the suspects, indicating a sinister plot being developed by the Jaish-affiliated terror network. Authorities also discovered a rifle and ammunition in Saeed's vehicle, with her recent passport verification suggesting possible plans to leave the country.
