Temple officials confirm this year's celebrations will be more elaborate than previous years.
Ayodhya is making preparations for a momentous religious ceremony as the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has announced that Tuesday, November 25, 2025 - traditionally observed as Lord Ram's wedding day - will feature the ceremonial flag hoisting atop the shikhara of the Ram Temple.
Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Trust, highlighted the spiritual and cultural significance of this occasion while sharing details about the event.
"The traditional sacred day of Lord Ram's wedding in Ayodhya falls on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. The flag hoisting ceremony will take place on the shikhara of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on this auspicious day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending this significant event," he stated.
Rai further mentioned that authorities have implemented comprehensive measures to manage the anticipated large crowds during the celebrations and provided clarity regarding the visiting dignitaries' schedule.
"The Prime Minister and other VIPs are expected to leave Ayodhya district approximately at 2 PM or slightly before. Both the administration and our team recognize the importance of this festival and its busy itinerary. The public will not experience any inconvenience. These arrangements are part of our ceremonial and logistical planning," he elaborated.
Temple officials have indicated that this year's festivities will be particularly magnificent. All subsidiary temples dedicated to Lord Mahadev, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Suryadev, Maa Bhagwati, Maa Annapurna, and Sheshavatar will be elaborately decorated alongside the main Ram Temple. Extensive preparations have been ongoing for weeks to ensure a visually stunning and spiritually enriching celebration.
The sacred rituals will be conducted by 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi, and South India, under the guidance of renowned Kashi scholar Ganeshwar Shastri. The ceremony will feature the hoisting of a saffron flag bearing the symbol of the Sun, representing eternal energy, divine radiance, virtue, and enlightenment - qualities traditionally associated with Lord Ram.
On Monday, Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, provided reporters with updates regarding the ongoing preparations. "Our discussions and preparations are centered on the Prime Minister's visit. We are ensuring appropriate arrangements for his tour of the temple premises and review of all ongoing construction activities. The final plan will incorporate suggestions from the Prime Minister's Office."
He reported significant progress in the construction efforts. "The majority of the work has been completed. Current focus is on beautifying the temple premises, including landscaping and plantations," Mishra noted, adding that the main temple structure and six subsidiary shrines are already complete.
Regarding the technical aspects of the upcoming flag-hoisting, Mishra mentioned that experts are working to ensure a flawless ceremony. "Our aim is to hoist the flag atop the temple's main spire, and certain technical requirements are being evaluated for this purpose. Specialists from the Defence Ministry with expertise in such procedures are providing assistance to ensure the November 25 ceremony proceeds smoothly without complications."
