Medical Licenses Revoked: Four Doctors Linked to Terror Module Banned from Practice in India

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has revoked the medical registrations of four doctors implicated in the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module responsible for the Delhi blast on November 10.

The commission has issued an immediate cancellation notice for both the Indian Medical Register (IMR) and National Medical Register (NMR) credentials of doctors Muzaffar Ahmad, Adeel Ahmad Rather, Muzamil Shakeel, and Shaheen Saeed.

According to the official notice, these individuals "can no longer practice medicine or hold any medical appointment anywhere in India."

The NMC's decision was based on evidence provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police along with the J&K and Uttar Pradesh Medical Councils, which determined the doctors were "prima facie involved" in terrorism activities connected to a trans-regional module.

The commission stated that the alleged conduct of these four medical professionals was "inconsistent with the standards of integrity, propriety and public trust expected of the medical profession."

Three doctors - Muzaffar Ahmad, Adeel Ahmad Rather, and Muzamil Shakeel - initially had their registrations canceled by the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council. Separately, the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council identified Shaheen Saeed's involvement. The NMC's national directive enforces these cancellations universally across India.

All State Medical Councils have received instructions to update their records and ensure that none of these four individuals continue medical practice under any circumstances.

This enforcement action follows recent revelations by J&K Police about a sophisticated network involving medical professionals. Previous reporting by NDTV indicated that the terror module had stockpiled approximately 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate, assault rifles, ammunition, and electronic detonation components in rented accommodations in both Srinagar and Faridabad.
