Air India Flight AI188 Safely Lands After Mid-Air Bomb Threat: Security Protocols Executed

The Air India flight from Toronto to Delhi safely landed at Delhi airport around 3:40 pm after receiving a bomb threat during its journey.

Delhi authorities received a bomb threat message for Air India flight AI188 while it was en route from Toronto to Delhi. Following protocol, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was immediately formed at Delhi airport and determined the threat to be "non-specific," according to sources.

The threatening message was received at approximately 11:30 am when the Boeing 777 aircraft was mid-air and about four hours away from reaching Delhi.

An Air India spokesperson confirmed that a security alert was communicated regarding flight AI188 during its cruise from Toronto to Delhi on Thursday.

"On board crew implemented all required security procedures, maintaining passenger safety and security as the top priority. The flight has safely landed in Delhi and has been positioned for mandatory security checks by security personnel following established protocol," stated the airline representative.

The spokesperson further confirmed that all passengers and crew members were safely disembarked from the aircraft.

The Toronto-Delhi flight, operated using a Boeing 777 aircraft, has a typical duration of just over 15 hours according to information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.
