Deadly Delhi Explosion: Severed Arm Found 1,000 Feet From Red Fort Blast Site Reveals Powerful Explosives Used

A severed arm was discovered on a shop rooftop approximately 300 meters (1,000 feet) away from Monday evening's devastating explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi. The powerful blast claimed nine lives and left 20 others injured.

The explosion occurred at 6:52 PM with such force that body parts were propelled significant distances from the epicenter. A brief 12-second video footage captured the severed forearm resting on top of a shop at Lajpat Rai Market, situated opposite the Red Fort Corridor.

According to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) officials, high-grade explosives were utilized in the attack. Preliminary analysis revealed that one of the explosive samples appears to be ammonium nitrate, while another sample is believed to be even more powerful. "The exact composition will be confirmed after a detailed forensic examination," an FSL official stated.

The investigation team collected over 40 samples from the blast site, including two cartridges, live ammunition, and various explosive materials for comprehensive analysis.

Forensic experts from Maulana Azad Medical College reported a cross-injury pattern on several victims' bodies, indicating that individuals were thrown against walls or the ground due to the explosion's impact. The forensic report documented significant damage to the lungs, ears, and abdominal regions of multiple casualties.

The blast's extraordinary force, evidenced by body parts found hundreds of meters away, underscores the lethal nature of the explosives used in this tragic incident that has shocked the capital city.
