The email was received on IndiGo's grievance portal, the police said.
A bomb threat email received on IndiGo's grievance portal on Wednesday prompted security checks at Delhi Airport's Terminal 3, but was later confirmed to be a hoax. The concerning message, which referenced multiple airports including Delhi, Chennai, and Goa, triggered immediate action from security agencies. Precautionary inspections were subsequently carried out at all mentioned locations.
Delhi Police reported that the fire brigade received an alert at 4 pm on Wednesday regarding a potential bomb at Delhi Airport Terminal 3. Following a thorough investigation of the premises, officials determined the threat was not credible. The original warning came through IndiGo's customer complaint system and mentioned several major airports across India. Security teams conducted comprehensive inspections at each identified location as a safety measure.
Security throughout Delhi has been heightened following a recent car explosion that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.
In a related development, two days after an explosion near the Red Fort, preliminary investigations have uncovered connections to a "white-collar terror network" with links to Pakistan-based organizations Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH).
This sophisticated network, reportedly involving medical professionals and religious figures, was disrupted through coordinated operations conducted between October 19 and November 10, 2025. These operations yielded 2,921 kilograms of explosives and led to numerous arrests.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has now assumed control of the investigation, which began after a joint operation by Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana Police exposed an extensive inter-state network operating through educational, medical, and religious institutions.
The security operation commenced on October 19, when authorities discovered suspicious JeM materials in Kashmir's Nowgam area, prompting formal charges and broader inquiry. The following day, three individuals—Arif Nisar, Yasir-ul-Ashraf, and Maqsood—were taken into custody in the Nowgam Police Station jurisdiction.
On October 27, security forces detained Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wage from Shopian and Zameer Ahmed from Wakura, Ganderbal, recovering weapons and ammunition during the arrest.
The investigation expanded beyond Jammu and Kashmir on October 30 with the arrest of Dr. Muzamil, a faculty member at Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad. This was followed by the apprehension of Dr. Adeel from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh on November 5.
Further searches at Anantnag Hospital on November 7 resulted in the confiscation of an AK-56 rifle and ammunition. The next day, a search operation at Al-Falah Medical College uncovered additional firearms, pistols, and explosive materials.
In subsequent days, authorities arrested a suspect identified as Madarsi at his Dhauj residence in Faridabad. Additionally, a substantial cache of 2,563 kg of explosives was discovered at the home of Hafeez Mohammad Ishtiaq, who served as an imam at the Al-Falah Mosque in Mewat.
