Just hours after issuing a high alert, Delhi Police located the red EcoSport car suspected to be connected to the deadly Red Fort blast that claimed nine lives.
The vehicle, with license plate DL10CK0458, was discovered abandoned at a farmhouse in Khandavali village, Haryana.
This Delhi blast marks the most significant security incident since April 22, when 26 people were killed at the tourist destination of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to sources who spoke with NDTV, authorities issued the alert after investigations revealed that suspects already linked to the Hyundai i20 used in the explosion also possessed a red-colored car.
All police stations, posts, and border checkpoints across Delhi were instructed to watch for the red EcoSport.
At least five Delhi Police teams were mobilized to find the vehicle, while police in neighboring Uttar Pradesh and Haryana were also alerted to maintain vigilance and assist in the search effort.
Sources indicated the red Ford EcoSport is registered to Dr. Umar Un Nabi, the prime suspect in the Delhi blast case. Dr. Umar, who worked at Al-Falah Medical College in Haryana's Faridabad and was part of an extensive terror module, was reportedly driving the car that exploded near Red Fort on Monday evening.
Security agencies conducting operations across multiple locations in Kashmir and Faridabad since October 19 discovered that Dr. Umar changed his location due to mounting pressure from investigating agencies.
The University distanced itself from the terror-linked doctors in a statement emphasizing its role as a responsible institution standing in solidarity with the nation.
"We want to make it loud and clear that as a responsible institution, we stand in solidarity with the nation and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the unity, peace, and security of our country," the University stated.
"Moreover, the University is extending its full cooperation to the concerned investigating authorities to enable them to arrive at a logical, fair, and conclusive determination in the matter pertaining to national security," the statement continued.
The University noted that the Al-Falah Group has managed various institutions since 1997, became autonomous in 2009, and attained university status in 2014.
Details about the suspect vehicle's registration have been distributed to all border units.
Sources believe the vehicle was used by Umar for reconnaissance activities.
The car was reportedly purchased using a fake address.
According to sources, Dr. Umar Nabi provided an address in North-East Delhi when purchasing the car, prompting police to conduct a late-night raid at that location.
