Erika Kirk Honors Late Husband's Memory as Sergio Gor Is Sworn In as US Ambassador to India

Erika Kirk embraces Sergio Gor during his swearing-in ceremony as the new US Ambassador to India.

During Sergio Gor's swearing-in as the new US Ambassador to India, Erika Kirk paid tribute to the friendship between her late husband Charlie Kirk and Gor. The Turning Point CEO's widow described the diplomatic appointment as "an incredible opportunity."

"Charlie loved you," she expressed emotionally. "He would have been the first phone call when he found out you were going to be taking this position."

The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Oval Office on November 10, with US President Donald Trump and high-ranking administration officials in attendance. During her heartfelt speech, Erika reflected on her husband's deep respect for Gor.

"The way that I was able to witness the two of you work together for years and to champion and support the president was absolutely humbling to witness," she stated. "I am so proud of you, and Charlie is going to be with you every single day in spirit. I will be praying for you every day because I know this is just the beginning of an incredible opportunity for you."

Gor, 38, received his official appointment as US ambassador to India in October. Vice President JD Vance administered the oath of office at the ceremony, which was attended by numerous prominent officials including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and US Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro, along with several senators.

Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a prominent conservative activist, was tragically shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University in September.

Sergio Gor, who maintained a close relationship with the Kirks, co-founded Winning Team Publishing with Donald Trump Jr. The publishing house has released several of Trump's bestselling books as well as works authored by Charlie Kirk.

After the ceremony concluded, Gor remarked, "I look forward to taking up my new assignment in New Delhi and thank President Donald Trump for the opportunity to serve as Washington's envoy to India."
