A car bomb detonated outside a courthouse complex in Pakistan's capital city of Islamabad.
New Delhi:
India firmly rejected Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's accusations on Tuesday that connected a terrorist attack in Islamabad to India, describing them as completely unfounded. The Indian government characterized this as a predictable strategy employed by Pakistan's "delirious" leadership to fabricate false narratives.
Following an incident where 12 individuals lost their lives in a suicide bombing outside a courthouse in Pakistan's capital, Sharif alleged that groups "operating with Indian support" were responsible for the attack.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized that the international community understands the reality of the situation and will not be deceived by Pakistan's "desperate" tactics.
"India categorically rejects the baseless and unfounded allegations made by the clearly delirious Pakistani leadership," Jaiswal stated when responding to questions about these accusations.
"This represents a predictable Pakistani tactic of inventing false narratives against India to divert their public's attention from the ongoing military-influenced constitutional manipulation and power grab currently unfolding within Pakistan," he added.
The Sharif administration has faced criticism from opposition parties in Pakistan after introducing a Constitutional amendment to establish a new Chief of Defence Forces position.
"The global community clearly recognizes the truth and will not be misled by Pakistan's desperate diversionary strategies," Jaiswal remarked.
Regarding the suicide attack in Islamabad, Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reported that the attacker attempted to enter the court complex but, upon failing to gain entry, detonated explosives near a police vehicle stationed at the building's entrance.
While Prime Minister Sharif blamed groups "active with Indian support" for the attack, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that the Afghan Taliban had sent a message through this bombing.
