'Can't Believe Daughter's Involvement': Father Of Terror Accused Doctor

Dr. Shaheen, who was arrested on Monday, is originally from Daliganj, Lucknow.

The father of Dr. Shaheen, a Lucknow-based female physician arrested in connection with a significant explosives seizure in Faridabad near Delhi, expressed disbelief on Tuesday regarding her possible involvement in such activities.

Syed Ahmad Ansari, Dr. Shaheen's father, informed IANS that she is one of four siblings.

"My eldest son, Shoaib, resides here with me. My second child, Shaheen Syed, was apprehended yesterday. She completed her medical education in Allahabad. My younger son, Parvez Ansari, whose residence was searched this morning, departed from the city long ago," he explained.

Ansari mentioned that Shaheen was employed in Faridabad and had married someone from Maharashtra.

"I find it difficult to accept that my daughter could be involved in such activities," he stated.

He revealed that both Shaheen and Parvez pursued medical careers, adding that he hasn't seen them for approximately eighteen months.

"My last conversation with Shaheen was about a month ago, but I communicate with Parvez almost weekly. I was unaware of Shaheen's arrest. I last spoke with Parvez last Tuesday. Our discussions never extended beyond inquiries about his well-being," he said.

According to Ansari, after marriage, Parvez began living with his wife in Saharanpur.

Shaheen reportedly has connections to Al-Falah University and was closely associated with Dr. Muzammil, a Kashmiri doctor who was arrested after authorities discovered 2,900 kg of explosives and inflammable materials in his two rented accommodations in Faridabad.

Officials reported that based on information from Muzammil, Faridabad Police recovered a Swift vehicle belonging to a female doctor working at Al-Falah Hospital, adding that a Kalashnikov assault rifle was also found in this car.

Meanwhile, Haryana DGP OP Singh announced on Tuesday that raids were being conducted throughout the state, including at Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital, following the previous day's seizure of a large cache of explosives, weapons, and ammunition linked to a terror module in Faridabad.

He added that searches were continuing across the Al-Falah University campus, and several suspects connected to the module were undergoing questioning.

Police sources confirmed that more than 52 individuals, including faculty members, students, and the principal of the medical college, have been interrogated regarding the case.

This development follows a blast near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station, where a Haryana-registered Hyundai i20 exploded near Gate No 1, resulting in at least eight fatalities and numerous injuries.

Teams from the NIA and ATS also visited the Lucknow residence of Dr. Shaheen's father following her arrest in the Faridabad terror module case.
