Delhi Red Fort Blast: Global Leaders Express Condolences as Investigation into Terror Attack Continues

Terror investigations are underway following the deadly car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort that claimed nine lives.

Global leaders have expressed profound condolences and shock after a devastating car blast near the iconic Red Fort in New Delhi killed nine people and left numerous others wounded. In response to the incident, several countries have issued security advisories urging their citizens in India to remain vigilant and avoid crowded locations.

The United States Embassy in India shared their sympathies on social media platform X, stating: "Our hearts are with those affected by the terrible explosion in New Delhi. We continue to closely monitor the situation. Our sincere condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured."

Following the explosion, the US Embassy released a security alert for American citizens residing in India. Their statement noted: "On November 10, 2025, a car exploded near the Lal Quila (Red Fort) metro station in central Delhi, India, with local media reporting multiple casualties. While the cause of the explosion is unknown at this time, the Government of India has placed several Indian states on high alert."

American citizens were advised to avoid areas surrounding the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk in Delhi, stay away from crowds, monitor local news updates, remain aware of their surroundings, and exercise caution in tourist-frequented locations.

British High Commissioner to India, Lindy Cameron, expressed her sympathies, saying: "My thoughts are with all those affected by the explosion near the Red Fort in New Delhi today." She also shared updated travel guidance, advising people in the affected area to follow instructions from local authorities.

Argentina's Ambassador to India, Mariano Caucino, conveyed: "On behalf of the people and government of Argentina, we convey our condolences to those who lost loved ones as a consequence of the Red Fort blast. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, and we wish a complete and swift recovery to all those injured."

French Ambassador Thierry Mathou extended "deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones in the Red Fort blast" on behalf of the French people and government, adding that their thoughts were with the victims' families while wishing full recovery to all injured.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka expressed solidarity with India, offering "deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic explosion in Delhi this evening" and wishing "a speedy recovery to the injured."

Morocco's Embassy communicated: "My colleagues join in expressing our most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families who lost their loved ones following the Red Fort metro station blast. May the departed souls rest in peace. Our wishes also for prompt recovery to the injured."

Australia's High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, wrote: "Our deepest condolences go out to all those affected by the incident this evening near Delhi's Red Fort. Our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones, and we wish for the speedy recovery of the injured."

The Iranian Embassy in India also expressed condolences to India's government and people, conveying "heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families of the victims" and wishing them "patience and comfort" along with "a speedy recovery for those injured in this tragic incident."

The explosion occurred near gate number 1 of the Red Fort metro station on Monday, killing nine people and injuring at least 20 others. The blast triggered a fire that damaged multiple nearby vehicles.

While investigations continue, security agencies have indicated it was a terror attack. Following the incident, heightened security measures were implemented at New Delhi's international airport, metro stations, and government buildings.

Images from the scene revealed shattered windows, mangled vehicle parts, and plumes of fire rising from burning cars.

Home Minister Amit Shah informed reporters that a Hyundai i20 car exploded near a traffic signal close to the Red Fort. He mentioned that surveillance footage from the area would be crucial to the investigation.

"We are exploring all possibilities and will conduct a thorough investigation, taking all possibilities into account," Shah stated. "All options will be investigated immediately, and we will present the results to the public."
