Attorney Arrested for Raping Woman During Settlement Discussion of Sexual Assault Case

A 55-year-old attorney has been arrested and incarcerated for allegedly raping a woman in Agra, as reported by police officials on Monday.

According to police reports, a 37-year-old woman filed a complaint at the Ekta police station on November 7. She stated that while a rape case was pending in court, Jitendra, the defense attorney representing the accused in that case, had suggested a settlement between both parties, which was initially agreed upon.

The woman claimed that on November 6, Jitendra contacted her regarding the settlement. She alleged that he manipulated her into entering his vehicle and persuaded her to consume alcohol. Subsequently, he transported her to a hotel where he sexually assaulted her.

Based on the woman's allegations, authorities registered a case against the lawyer. The accused was apprehended on Sunday and remanded to custody. Police officials have confirmed that an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
