New Delhi:

The arrest of two doctors from Kashmir has resulted in the discovery of approximately 350 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate explosives along with weapons and ammunition from a residence in Faridabad, Haryana. The suspects were identified as Adeel Ahmad Rather and Muzammil Ganaie.

Here Are 10 Key Developments In The Case

Adeel Ahmad Rather, hailing from Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir and employed as an instructor at Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences & Research Centre in Faridabad, was apprehended in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Rather was among seven individuals arrested after authorities dismantled an interstate and transnational terror network. He allegedly displayed posters supporting the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar on October 19.

The seizures occurred after police interrogated Rather and executed search operations in Faridabad. The explosives and weapons were stored at the rented accommodation of another doctor identified as Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie.

Ganaie, a native of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir who worked alongside Rather at Al-Falah, has also been taken into custody.

During the operation, authorities recovered approximately 350 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate explosives, one Carom Cok rifle, two automatic pistols, and 84 rounds of ammunition from Ganaie's rented residence in Faridabad, according to police reports.

Additionally, five liters of chemicals, 20 timers with batteries, and 14 bags were discovered at the location.

A rifle and ammunition were found inside a Maruti Suzuki Swift vehicle belonging to a female doctor from Al-Falah Hospital.

Investigations revealed that Rather had previously worked at a government medical college in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir until October last year. When authorities searched his locker in Anantnag, they discovered an assault rifle.

"The group has been utilizing encrypted communication channels for indoctrination, coordination, fund transfers, and logistics. They raised funds through professional and academic networks under the pretense of social and charitable causes," stated the police.

The suspects were reportedly involved in identifying individuals for radicalization, initiation, and recruitment into terrorist organizations, as well as fundraising, arranging logistics, procuring weapons and ammunition, and gathering materials for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), according to police sources.
