Adil Ahmad Rather is a resident of Qazigund in South Kashmir.

New Delhi:

A significant terror plot has been discovered with a concerning recovery of explosives from Haryana's Faridabad, shortly after the arrest of Kashmiri doctor Adil Ahmad Rather, who allegedly displayed posters supporting the terror organization Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir police uncovered 350 kg of ammonium nitrate, assault rifles, and ammunition. According to Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta, timers were also found alongside the explosives.

Sources indicate that this discovery resulted from information revealed during Adil's interrogation.

Who is Adil Ahmad Rather? Adil Ahmad Rather comes from Qazigund in South Kashmir. Until October 2024, he worked as a senior resident at Government Medical College (GMC) in Anantnag.

On October 27, Jaish-e-Mohammed posters appeared throughout Srinagar. Police investigation uncovered CCTV footage showing Adil placing these posters. Nine days later, on November 6, authorities arrested Adil at a hospital on Ambala Road in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur.

Earlier this week, a police raid at GMC Anantnag led to the discovery of an AK-47 rifle and ammunition in Adil's locker. He was subsequently charged under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Further investigation resulted in the discovery of substantial explosives and weapons in Faridabad, which Adil reportedly stored with another doctor named Muzammil Shakeel, who was also arrested.

Muzammil is from Pulwama and was employed as a doctor at Al-Falah Hospital in Faridabad.

Sources suggest that the involvement of these doctors indicates terror networks are now recruiting highly educated professionals.

Police are investigating how such a large quantity of explosives was transported undetected so close to the national capital.
