350kg Explosives Seized Near Delhi Following Kashmiri Doctor's Arrest in Terror Support Case

Jammu and Kashmir police have uncovered 350kg of suspected ammonium nitrate explosives in Faridabad following the arrest of a Kashmiri doctor linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed. The case reveals possible recruitment of medical professionals by terror networks and raises serious security concerns about how such large quantities of explosives were moved undetected near the national capital.

In an alarming development near the national capital, Jammu and Kashmir police have uncovered 350 kg of explosives, believed to be ammonium nitrate, along with an assault rifle in Faridabad, Haryana. This significant discovery followed the arrest of a Kashmiri doctor in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur who was allegedly involved in supporting the terror organization Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Sources reveal that Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather's interrogation led authorities to the Faridabad cache. The explosives and weapons were reportedly stored by another doctor, Mujammil Shakeel from Pulwama, who works at Al-Falah hospital in Faridabad and has now been arrested.

Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta confirmed that alongside the explosives, authorities discovered 20 timers, a pistol, three magazines, and a walkie-talkie set.

The investigation began on October 27 when pro-Jaish-e-Mohammed posters appeared in Srinagar. CCTV footage identified Rather as the person posting them, leading to his arrest in Saharanpur last week. Rather had previously worked at the Government Medical College, Anantnag until October of last year. A search of his locker there yielded an assault rifle, and his subsequent questioning provided information that led to the Faridabad seizure.

Rather faces charges under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Security sources suggest this case indicates terror networks may be recruiting highly educated professionals.

Authorities are currently investigating the purpose behind storing such a large quantity of explosives near Delhi and how such materials could be transported and stored undetected so close to the national capital.
