In a shocking incident in Bokaro district of Jharkhand, a 35-year-old man has been arrested for murdering his wife in the presence of their three young children during the early hours of Sunday.
According to Bokaro Thermal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Pinku Yadav, the accused, Rupesh Yadav, killed his 30-year-old wife Jhalo Devi following an intense argument. The horrific crime occurred around 3 am in their residence at Naya Basti in Bermo block.
Police reports indicate that Rupesh used a hammer to attack his wife and subsequently slit her throat with a knife. The couple's three children—a seven-year-old daughter named Riddhi Rani, a four-year-old son named Piyush, and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter—were asleep in the same room when the incident took place.
The eldest child, Riddhi, awoke upon hearing her mother's screams and began crying loudly. The noise alerted Rupesh's mother, Nunwa Devi, who lived nearby. Upon reaching the scene and opening the door, she discovered the room covered in blood and her daughter-in-law lying dead.
Local villagers apprehended the husband and handed him over to authorities on Sunday morning. Police have confirmed that they have recovered the weapons used in the crime, and the victim's body has been sent to Bokaro Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into this domestic violence case that has left three children without their mother and their father in police custody.
