Prashant Kishor Rejects Coalition Possibilities in Bihar Elections, Stands Firm Against BJP

Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has firmly ruled out joining any coalition government in Bihar, declaring his opposition to BJP on ideological grounds. In an exclusive interview, the political strategist emphasized his commitment to forming government independently or remaining in opposition after the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections, which recorded 65.08% voter turnout in the first phase.

Prashant Kishor Rules Out Alliance In Bihar

Prashant Kishor firmly criticized the BJP-led central government, claiming it prioritizes Gujarat over Bihar in development matters.

During an exclusive interview with ANI, Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor definitively eliminated any possibility of entering into coalition governance if his party fails to achieve an absolute majority in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

The political strategist-turned-politician emphasized his commitment to continuing grassroots work rather than compromising his party's fundamental principles.

"If Bihar's citizens aren't ready for change yet, we will remain with them and continue our work for another five-year term. There's absolutely no consideration of joining any government. Jan Suraaj will either form government independently or function as opposition. If necessary, we would even advocate for another election. We stand against the BJP and oppose their ideological positions," Kishor stated.

He further elaborated, "We've invested tremendous effort in establishing Jan Suraaj, and positive changes are already evident, so let's await the results. What's the worst possible outcome? Perhaps Jan Suraaj won't secure numerous seats this time, in which case we'll continue working for another five years. There's no rush. At 48 years of age, I can dedicate five more years to this mission."

On Saturday, Kishor criticized the BJP-led administration, accusing it of favoring Gujarat while neglecting Bihar regarding industrial development.

"The BJP solicits votes from Bihar, so they should establish factories here as well. Throughout the past 15 years, Prime Minister Modi has developed industrial facilities in Gujarat, not Bihar," Kishor remarked during a campaign event.

Criticizing both the opposition's Mahagathbandhan and the governing NDA alliance, Kishor questioned, "Is this acceptable to you? 'Will Uncle Nitish stay or leave?' Do you desire 'Lalu's Lantern'? The Jungle Raj associated with the Lantern? If you don't support Lalu, Nitish, or Modi, then who remains?"

The initial phase of Bihar's assembly elections concluded peacefully on Thursday, with an impressive 65.08% voter participation rate.

The remaining 122 constituencies will participate in voting during the second phase scheduled for November 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
