Delhi Traffic Advisory for Akon Concert: Routes, Parking and Public Transport Guidelines

In preparation for American rapper and singer Akon's upcoming live performance in Delhi, the Delhi Traffic Police has released a detailed advisory. The concert is scheduled for November 9 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLN Stadium) in New Delhi.

The performance, named "Akon India Tour 2025," will run from 5 PM until 10 PM. Authorities anticipate approximately 10,000 attendees from across the National Capital Region to gather for this significant musical event.

To accommodate the large crowd and ensure efficient traffic flow, extensive traffic arrangements and parking strategies have been implemented.

For concert attendees, entry access to JLN Stadium will be available through Gates 13 and 14. The organizers have designated parking facilities at Stadium Gates 7 through 9 and at the SCOPE Complex MCD Parking area specifically for event attendees.

Traffic restrictions will be enforced in areas surrounding the stadium on November 9 between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM to manage the expected surge in pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) will face movement restrictions between JLN Stadium Red Light and B.P. Marg throughout this period. The public is advised to avoid B.P. Marg, CGO Complex Road, and roads leading toward JLN Stadium, as these routes are expected to experience significant congestion.

Emergency vehicles including ambulances, fire tenders, and police vehicles will be granted unobstructed passage through restricted areas while performing official duties. However, these emergency services are recommended to avoid B.P. Marg and CGO Complex Road to prevent operational delays.

The Delhi Traffic Police strongly encourages all citizens to consider public transportation options when traveling to the venue, plan their journeys with additional time allowances for potential delays caused by crowd movement, and follow instructions from traffic police personnel stationed throughout the area to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

Authorities have confirmed that sufficient arrangements for traffic diversion and regulation are in place, with all possible measures being taken to minimize public inconvenience during the concert.
