Security Forces Eliminate Two Terrorists During Infiltration Attempt in J&K's Kupwara

The operation continues as security forces search the area thoroughly.
Security forces successfully neutralized two terrorists during an ongoing encounter in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The joint operation was initiated on Friday in the Keran sector of Kupwara following specific intelligence reports about potential infiltration attempts along the Line of Control.
Security personnel on high alert detected suspicious movement and challenged the infiltrators, who responded with indiscriminate gunfire, forcing the troops to retaliate.
Chinar Corps shared on X platform: "Operation PIMPLE, Keran, Kupwara: On 07 Nov 2025, based on specific intelligence input from agencies regarding infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched in the Keran sector of Kupwara. Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire. Contact established and terrorists trapped."
They further stated, "Two terrorists have been neutralised by the security forces in the ongoing operation."
The operation remains active as security forces continue their comprehensive search of the area.
Previously, on October 14, the Indian Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt on the Line of Control in Kupwara district, eliminating two terrorists. Officials reported that vigilant Army troops had detected suspicious movement along the LoC.
The Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir spans 740 kilometers, while the International Border extends 240 kilometers. The LoC runs through Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora in the Kashmir Valley and parts of Jammu district, whereas the International Border is situated in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts in the Jammu division.
