Patna:

Janshakti Janata Dal founder Tej Pratap Yadav and BJP MP Ravi Kishan were seen conversing at the Patna airport on Friday, creating speculation amidst the ongoing assembly elections.

Journalists quickly surrounded the pair as they exited the airport engaged in conversation, wondering if this encounter between the former RJD leader, previously known for strongly criticizing the BJP-RSS, and Kishan might indicate a new political alignment.

Both politicians had just completed busy campaign schedules. Yadav, who was expelled from RJD by his father Lalu Prasad, had been campaigning in Gaya for his party's candidates, while Kishan had addressed political rallies in East Champaran and West Champaran districts.

When approached by reporters, Yadav explained, "I am just meeting Ravi Kishan for the first time. Certainly, he and I share our devotion to Lord Shiva. We both wear the 'tika' on our foreheads." When specifically asked about potentially aligning with the BJP, the Hasanpur MLA, who is now contesting from his previous Mahua seat, avoided a direct answer but stated, "I will be with anyone who removes unemployment."

When further questioned about praise he had received from "some senior BJP leaders," Kishan interjected, saying, "It is his heart that is earning people's praise." The actor-turned-politician added, "Anything can happen. BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi keep doors open for all devotees of Bholenath, who are devoted to selfless service and not in politics because of a personal agenda," when asked if "something is possible," suggesting Yadav might be welcomed into the BJP.

However, Kishan became defensive when questioned whether he believed the RJD supremo's elder son had been treated unfairly after being expelled following his admission to "being in a relationship" with someone other than his estranged wife.

Before quickly moving past the media gathering, he responded, "Now, do not ask me such questions. These are election times. Rest assured, though, that the people of Bihar are wise enough to discern right from wrong."
