Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised Bihar's electorate for achieving a record-breaking turnout in the first phase of voting, interpreting this as a strong indication of public confidence in the NDA's double-engine governance model at both central and state levels.
"The people of Bihar have established new records with nearly 65 percent voter participation in the first phase—the highest polling percentage since Independence. This demonstrates that Bihar's youth, farmers, and women are coming forward to support the BJP-led NDA," PM Modi declared while addressing a substantial gathering in Aurangabad.
The Prime Minister reflected on the region's troubled past, noting that Aurangabad had long suffered under the weight of Naxal violence during the RJD-Congress administration. He emphasized that it was under Nitish Kumar's leadership that the area finally found freedom from such widespread violence.
PM Modi further detailed the NDA government's successful campaign against extremist violence, stating, "This region endured Maoist terror for many years. During the jungle raj era, people were afraid to leave their homes, but once 'Sushashan' was established in Bihar under Nitish Kumar, Naxal terror began to decline. When the BJP government assumed power nationally, we initiated a comprehensive operation against Red terror, restoring normalcy to people's daily lives."
Highlighting the BJP's track record of fulfilling electoral commitments, the Prime Minister referenced several significant accomplishments from his decade in office. "We promised the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the revocation of Article 370, and the implementation of One Rank, One Pension for our Armed Forces—each of these pledges was delivered within our stated timeframes," he affirmed.
"I made a promise on Bihar's soil that we would respond to the terror attacks in Pahalgam. I ask you now—didn't our forces punish those responsible? Didn't they deliver an appropriate response to these malicious acts?" PM Modi asked, drawing enthusiastic affirmation from attendees.
In his address, PM Modi also warned voters against being misled by what he termed as 'fake' promises from the Mahagathbandhan, suggesting that their return to power would signify the resurgence of 'katta sarkar' (gun rule).
