New Delhi:

On Thursday, Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj made allegations that certain BJP leaders who participated in the Delhi Assembly elections in February also cast votes in the Bihar polls. The BJP firmly rejected these accusations.

Bihar Assembly elections commenced with the first phase on Thursday.

During a press conference, Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that BJP leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha and Delhi BJP's Purvanchal Morcha president Santosh Ojha, who had previously voted in Delhi, also participated in voting during the first phase of Bihar elections.

The Delhi AAP chief alleged a "massive voter fraud" by BJP leaders, stating they first voted in Delhi and subsequently in Bihar, despite the Election Commission's claim of eliminating duplicate voters from the state's electoral rolls.

Both Sinha and Ojha dismissed Bharadwaj's allegations, asserting he was spreading "lies".

Sinha remarked that those questioning others who believe in the Constitution should think carefully before doing so.

"My name was in the Delhi voter list. Due to my active involvement in Bihar's politics, I got my name changed to Manser Pur (Begusarai) village. Should I file a defamation case for this accusation?" Sinha stated in his post.

Ojha claimed AAP leaders were "frustrated" by their party's defeat in the Delhi Assembly polls and were spreading "lies" to defame the BJP.

"I followed the due process for deletion of my name from the voter list of Delhi and getting enrolled as a voter from Bihar as I had plans to contest the Assembly polls from Buxar," he told PTI.

Bharadwaj accused the BJP of "stealing elections through voter fraud" and labeled the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar as a "failure".

"The Election Commission had assured that after the SIR, no one registered in another state could vote in Bihar. Then how did this happen?" questioned the AAP leader.

"How many more BJP workers have travelled from different states to cast their votes in Bihar today?" he further inquired.

Bharadwaj urged people to step out and raise their voice against "vote theft" peacefully and democratically.
