Class 7 Student Lured Through Instagram and Gang-Raped in Lucknow Hotel: Police Investigation Underway

Two suspects, Piyush and Shubham, have been apprehended while one remains at large

A tragic incident unfolded in Lucknow when a Class 7 student's encounter with an Instagram acquaintance resulted in her being confined to a hotel room and gang-raped over a two-day period. Law enforcement officials have filed charges and detained two suspects, while the primary perpetrator who enticed the underage girl remains at large.

According to the complaint filed by the girl's mother, the minor had established contact with a man named Vimal Yadav through Instagram. Their relationship progressed to regular conversations and phone calls.

On November 2, Vimal invited the minor to meet him. Upon arrival at the designated location, the girl discovered Vimal accompanied by two companions, Piyush Mishra and Shubham Shukla. They were traveling in a Scorpio SUV, and Vimal persuaded the girl to join them for a casual drive. After she entered the vehicle, they proceeded to the IIM road where they secured accommodation at a hotel.

The complaint details that the perpetrators confiscated the girl's mobile device, restricted her to the hotel premises, and subjected her to sequential sexual assault. Following two days of captivity, the assailants released the girl near her residence and fled the scene.

The victim's mother stated that her daughter was severely traumatized and emotional when questioned about her whereabouts. The minor revealed to her mother that the perpetrators physically assaulted her when she attempted to resist. Additionally, the assailants threatened to distribute recordings of the attack, as stated in the formal complaint by the girl's mother.

Authorities have initiated legal proceedings under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the comprehensive Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Piyush and Shubham have been detained, while law enforcement continues to search for the primary suspect.

Police officials confirmed that the victim's mother submitted a formal complaint at the Sarojini Nagar police station yesterday. "We have documented the complaint under relevant legal provisions and taken two suspects, Piyush and Shubham, into custody. Additional investigative measures are in progress," according to an official police statement.
