Police solved this murder case within just 72 hours after thorough investigation.
A woman, in collaboration with her lover, allegedly murdered her husband and attempted to hide their crime by disposing of the body in the Srisailam reservoir located on Krishna River in Andhra Pradesh.
Authorities managed to solve this homicide case in less than three days.
According to Ravula Giridhar, Superintendent of Police for Telangana's Wanaparthy District, a detailed investigation combining technical evidence and analysis of surveillance footage led investigators directly to the perpetrators.
Kurumurthi, who worked as a watchman in Wanaparthy, disappeared after October 25. His wife Kekula Nagamani and her lover Nandimalla Srikanth have been identified as the primary suspects in the case.
The SP revealed that the couple executed a calculated plan. On the night of October 25, Nagamani and Srikanth allegedly got Kurumurthi drunk before strangling him with a cord from a cooler to ensure his death.
Following the murder, they rented a self-drive vehicle to transport the body. They drove to the Srisailam project area where they disposed of the corpse near the dam.
In an attempt to deflect suspicion, Nagamani later reported her husband as missing at the Wanaparthy Town Police Station.
Despite their elaborate cover-up efforts, their scheme quickly fell apart. The arrests of both Nagamani and Srikanth have confirmed the premeditated murder motivated by their illicit relationship.
SP Giridhar emphasized, "No matter how cleverly a crime is committed, the truth will always come out. No offender can escape the law."
