Ahmedabad:
Authorities have discovered the remains of a man buried beneath the kitchen floor in his Ahmedabad, Gujarat home, one year after his murder by his wife and her paramour.
Mohammed Israil Akbarali Ansari, originally from Bihar's Siwan district, had married Rubi in 2015 before relocating away from their village. He earned his living as a mason in Ahmedabad where he resided with Rubi and their two children.
According to investigators, Ansari had become an impediment to the romantic relationship between his wife Rubi and Imran Akbarbhai Vaghela. Reports also indicate that Ansari regularly subjected his wife to physical violence. The situation culminated in Rubi, Vaghela, and two accomplices fatally attacking Ansari with a knife.
Following the homicide, the perpetrators excavated a hole beneath the kitchen platform in Rubi and Ansari's residence, interred the body, and concealed the burial site with cement and tiles.
The case broke open a year later when the Crime Branch apprehended Vaghela. During interrogation, he revealed the location of Ansari's remains. When authorities exhumed the burial site, they recovered human remains including bones, tissue fragments, and hair.
Law enforcement has filed charges against the accused for murder and evidence tampering, and an investigation is currently underway. Police are actively working to locate and arrest Rubi and the two additional suspects involved in the crime.
