The devastating road accident in Jaipur claimed fourteen lives.

A horrific CCTV footage exclusively obtained by NDTV has documented one of Rajasthan's most catastrophic road accidents that occurred in Jaipur. On Monday afternoon, an out-of-control dumper truck barreled down the Loha Mandi stretch in the Harmada area, crushing approximately 17 vehicles and resulting in 14 fatalities. An additional ten individuals sustained severe injuries.

The video recording shows the enormous truck plowing through a congested line of vehicles along a 300-meter road section, violently colliding with cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians with tremendous impact.

Eyewitnesses reported that the dumper truck seemed "completely out of control" as it hurtled down Road No. 14 toward the Loha Mandi petrol station. The driver, suspected of being intoxicated, collided with multiple vehicles in succession before finally crashing into a stationary trailer at the road's end.

"We witnessed people extracting bodies one after another from the damaged vehicles. Some victims were trapped inside, while others were scattered across the road. The scene was chaotic, with screams and blood everywhere," described local shopkeeper Mahesh Sharma.

Jitendra Soni, Jaipur District Collector, who promptly arrived at the incident site, verified that "Thirteen people died and ten were injured. The wounded have been transported to the trauma center at SMS Hospital, with several remaining in critical condition."

By evening, authorities updated the death toll to 14 after another victim succumbed to injuries while hospitalized.

Among the deceased were five family members from Agra—Nanji Bhai, his brother, two women, and a child—who were returning from Khatushyamji after religious worship. Their parked vehicle was struck with such tremendous force that it was flipped onto the roadside barrier.

Another family from Jaipur's Bainad Road area experienced a similar tragedy. Rakesh, a relative, shared how his cousin Mahendra (38), a weaver by profession, was traveling to the bus stand with his two nieces, Varsha (19) and Bhanu (5), following the Diwali holidays. "After the festivities, Mahendra had accompanied his two nieces to the bus stand to return them to Sikar. This is when the accident happened. Varsha is currently in the trauma center, while Mahendra and Bhanu have lost their lives," he explained.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma conveyed profound grief, describing the tragedy as "heart-wrenching and unacceptable." His deputies, Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa, along with former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, also extended condolences to the grieving families.
