A 14-month-old boy was fatally struck by an SUV driven by a 20-year-old in Delhi's Samaypur Badli area. The accident occurred near Balaji Nursery on Sunday afternoon, resulting in the infant's death at Burari Hospital. The driver, Samar Choudhary from Rohini, has been arrested and charged with rash driving and causing death by negligence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

SUV Driven By 20-Year-Old Runs Over 14-Month-Old Boy In Delhi

A tragic incident occurred in outer Delhi's Samaypur Badli area when a 14-month-old infant lost his life after being struck by an SUV, according to police reports released on Monday.

The fatal accident happened at approximately 4 pm on Sunday near Balaji Nursery located on Siras Pur Road. Authorities report that the vehicle was being operated by a 20-year-old driver when it collided with the baby boy.

According to a senior police officer, "The child was with his mother who was standing by the roadside when the speeding vehicle hit the boy. The infant suffered severe injuries and was immediately transported to Burari Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival."

Law enforcement has filed charges under section 281 for rash driving and section 106(1) for causing death by negligence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the officer stated.

The driver has been identified as Samar Choudhary, a Rohini resident, who has been taken into custody. Police have also seized the vehicle involved in the incident. Officials confirm that further investigation into the matter continues.
