Three Men Arrested for Gang-Raping 14-Year-Old Student in Kolkata's Dum Dum Area

Police authorities have apprehended three individuals accused of gang-raping a 14-year-old girl in Kolkata's Dum Dum neighborhood. According to police sources, the Class 7 student had departed for her tuition classes on Saturday evening when the assault occurred. The suspects have been identified as Sanju Saha, Vicky Paswan, and Rajesh Paswan.

Investigative reports indicate that the victim was acquainted with one of the perpetrators. They reportedly spent some time at a park before two additional individuals joined them. The three accused subsequently transported the girl forcibly via e-rickshaw to a residence in Motilal Colony. As per the complaint filed with police, she endured torture and gang-rape at this location.

The victim eventually managed to escape and returned to her home in the evening in a distressed state. After disclosing the traumatic incident to her parents, they promptly filed a complaint at the Dum Dum Police Station.

Law enforcement officers arrested all three suspects and charged them under applicable sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including charges related to gang rape and unlawful confinement.

The court has remanded Saha to five days in police custody, while the Paswans have been placed in judicial custody for one day.

This morning, local BJP supporters conducted a demonstration outside the Dum Dum police station, demanding severe punishment for the perpetrators.
