Hyderabad-Bound Air India Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Vizag
An Air India Express flight from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad with 103 passengers made an emergency landing here on Thursday, following an engine problem after a suspected bird hit mid-air, said an official.

Visakhapatnam:
On Thursday, an Air India Express flight carrying 103 passengers from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad was forced to make an emergency landing at the departure airport due to engine complications suspected to be caused by a mid-air bird strike, according to an official statement.
S Raja Reddy, Director of Visakhapatnam Airport, confirmed that the pilot of Air India Express flight IX 2658 requested permission for an emergency landing and subsequently returned to Visakhapatnam after abandoning the scheduled journey to Hyderabad.
"The pilot reported engine problems shortly after departure from Vizag. He requested an emergency landing and returned to Vizag. All passengers landed safely and were successfully deboarded," Reddy informed PTI, adding that the airline is currently arranging alternative transportation options for affected travelers.
The airport director further stated that the aircraft departed at 2.38 pm and returned by 3 pm, having traveled only approximately 10 nautical miles. The suspected bird strike is believed to have occurred during the ascent phase of the flight.
