Bengaluru:
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has dismissed speculations regarding potential leadership changes, referred to as the 'November Revolution', emphasizing complete unity within the state government.
Shivakumar firmly stated that there is no necessity for either media or Congress members to search for leadership alternatives.
"Only statements from the Chief Minister and myself carry significance. Comments from others hold no value," the Deputy Chief Minister remarked while addressing political rumors.
Speaking with reporters near Kanteerava Stadium, Shivakumar emphasized that the administration remains focused on governance and development rather than responding to speculation.
He highlighted his strong coordination with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, noting, "It is precisely because of our unity that we secured victories in 136 constituencies and expanded our strength to 140."
Regarding the controversial Tunnel Road project in Bengaluru that faces BJP opposition, Shivakumar offered a collaborative approach, saying, "I am prepared to establish a committee on the Tunnel Road issue under Opposition Leader R Ashoka's leadership. Entry and exit points near Lalbagh will be designed according to his suggestions."
Clarifying his openness to bipartisan infrastructure planning, the Deputy CM added, "Ashoka need not demonstrate since he represents Bengaluru. Having won here seven to eight times, he shares responsibility for development. The committee formed under his leadership should provide guidance to the government. We will include whoever he recommends, including Malleswaram MLA C N Ashwath Narayan. We must collaborate, and we will."
Shivakumar revealed his personal inspection of the Tunnel Road location near Lalbagh on Friday night.
"I visited the Lalbagh area to examine potential entry point locations. I'm also considering alternative routes. There's no need for concern," he assured, emphasizing that public interest would guide the project implementation.
When questioned about who would hoist the flag during upcoming Rajyotsava celebrations, Shivakumar dismissed the question, countering, "Then what was done now at the stadium?"
On matters of linguistic and regional identity, particularly regarding police interactions with Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti members in Belagavi, the Deputy Chief Minister stated, "We will work to transform the MES members. They are operating as a party in Karnataka, and they too are Kannadigas. They have representation in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly."
