A tragic accident occurred on Thursday in Bhiwandi, Thane district, when a motorcycle carrying a father and his three-year-old daughter collided with a container truck. The devastating incident happened while the family was en route to seek medical attention for the unwell child, according to police officials.
The collision took place around noon in the Padgha area, as confirmed by Additional Superintendent of Police (Thane Rural) Anmol Mittal to PTI.
"Saheem Maqbool Khot, who lived in Borivali in Padgha, was riding his two-wheeler with his wife and three-year-old daughter when the tragic incident occurred. While attempting to change lanes and navigate between a container truck and an autorickshaw, Khot's motorcycle collided with the container truck," explained Mittal.
"The impact killed Khot instantly, while his young daughter passed away from her injuries shortly afterward. His wife, who was seated behind him, suffered critical injuries and is currently fighting for her life in a Thane hospital. A family member informed us that the child had been feeling unwell, and the family was traveling to a doctor for a medical examination when the accident happened," he further stated.
