India's Women Health Campaign Sets 3 Guinness World Records

India has established three Guinness World Records through its nationwide 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan' (SNSPA), a campaign dedicated to preventive and women-focused healthcare initiatives.

The first record was set for the highest number of people registering on a healthcare platform in one month, exceeding 3.21 crore individuals. The second achievement was for the most registrations for breast cancer screening online in a single week, surpassing 9.94 lakh participants. The third record recognized the most registrations for vital signs screening online in one week at the state level, with over 1.25 lakh people.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the campaign reached all districts nationwide, organizing 19.7 lakh health camps and engaging more than 11 crore people across various health platforms.

The campaign's comprehensive approach included screening 1.78 crore individuals for hypertension, 1.73 crore for diabetes, and 69.5 lakh for oral cancer. Healthcare providers conducted over 62.6 lakh antenatal check-ups, administered 1.43 crore vaccine doses, and performed 1.51 crore anaemia tests.

Additionally, healthcare workers screened more than 85.9 lakh women for tuberculosis and 10.2 lakh for sickle cell disease. Approximately 2.14 crore people participated in counseling and wellness sessions throughout the campaign period.

The initiative also registered over 2.68 lakh Nikshay Mitra, individuals who pledge to support tuberculosis patients under the Government's National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), with active involvement from My Bharat volunteers.

More than 20 ministries and departments collaborated in this "whole-of-government" campaign, including central government institutes, medical colleges, and private organizations. Members of Parliament, MLAs, and officials from various ministries actively participated in this nationwide effort.

The Health Ministry highlighted that this recognition represents a significant milestone in India's approach to combining public health outreach with digital innovation and community participation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, "Our mothers and sisters, our women power, are the foundation of the nation's progress. If a mother is healthy, the whole family stays healthy." He noted that the campaign embodies the spirit of service and the commitment to "Bharat First."

The campaign engaged over five lakh Panchayati Raj representatives, 1.14 crore school and college students, 94 lakh members of self-help groups, and approximately five lakh participants from other community platforms.

Launched on September 17 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and continuing until October 2 as part of 'Poshan Month,' the campaign focused specifically on enhancing the health and nutrition of women, adolescent girls, and children across India.
