A Hyderabad Task Force Sub-Inspector has been suspended following allegations that he accepted a ₹2 crore bribe to help financial fraud suspect Vuppalapaty Satish escape custody. Fraud Suspect Escapes Custody, Cop Allegedly Took Bribe To Help Him

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has suspended Task Force Sub-Inspector Srikanth Goud following a major security breach that enabled financial fraud suspect Vuppalapaty Satish to escape custody. The suspension follows allegations that the officer accepted a ₹2 crore bribe to facilitate the escape.

On October 24, the incident occurred while a Task Force team was transporting Satish, his wife, and their daughter from Mumbai to Hyderabad. Satish stands accused in a ₹23 crore fraud case where he allegedly cheated multiple investors, including a senior doctor whose father was a former Union minister.

The accused family managed to escape near Sadashivpet. According to police sources, the Sub-Inspector deliberately kept other officers away from the suspect during transit and personally drove them toward the Maharashtra border. The family then escaped in a vehicle that appears to have been arranged beforehand.

Authorities later discovered the abandoned vehicle in Kolhapur, indicating the suspects had crossed into Maharashtra.

Commissioner Sajjanar held SI Goud responsible for the security failure and initiated an internal investigation. The inquiry revealed significant procedural violations and negligence, resulting in Goud's immediate suspension. The entire Task Force team involved in the transport operation has been grounded pending a comprehensive departmental investigation.

Hyderabad police have launched an extensive multi-state search operation for Satish and his family members, with particular focus on Maharashtra. Investigators are currently tracking their financial networks and mapping potential hideout locations.

A local court rejected Satish's anticipatory bail application on Thursday, giving police authority to arrest him without legal obstacles.

Meanwhile, investigators are examining the ₹2 crore bribe allegation and analyzing the Sub-Inspector's call records to establish potential corruption. Authorities face mounting pressure not only to recapture the accused but also to determine the full extent of alleged police complicity in the escape.
