Woman Killed As Rock Falls From Hill, Crashes Through VW Virtus' Sunroof

A 43-year-old woman identified as Snehal Gujarati lost her life in a tragic incident when a large rock fell onto a moving vehicle, breaking through the sunroof and striking her fatally. The accident occurred while she was traveling on the mountainous Tamhini Ghat route in Maharashtra.

Gujarati was a passenger in a Volkswagen Virtus, journeying from Pune to Mangaon, when the boulder crashed through the car's sunroof. The rock directly impacted her head as she occupied the passenger seat, causing immediate fatal injuries.

In an unrelated incident on Wednesday morning, a private luxury bus caught fire while traveling on the Samruddhi Highway from Mumbai to Jalna. The fire broke out around 3 am in the Nagpur Lane section of the highway. The bus was carrying 12 passengers plus the driver and his assistant. Thanks to the driver's quick response, all passengers were safely evacuated from the vehicle.

Earlier in October, another tragic accident claimed eight lives and left 15 people injured when a speeding mini truck plunged into a gorge in Maharashtra's Nandurbar district on October 18. The vehicle, carrying approximately 40 people returning from a pilgrimage site, fell into a 200-foot-deep ravine after the driver lost control.
