Adani Power Q2 Revenue Rises To Rs 13,106 Crore, Sells 7.4% More Electricity

Adani Power Limited (APL) announced strong Q2 FY26 operating revenue of Rs 13,106.34 crore, marginally higher than Rs 12,949.12 crore reported in Q2 FY25. The company achieved this growth through increased power sales volume, which rose by 7.4 percent to 23.7 billion units despite challenges from early and prolonged monsoons affecting demand.

The Adani Group subsidiary maintained stable consolidated EBITDA at Rs 6,001 crore for Q2, virtually unchanged from Rs 6,000 crore in the same period last year. This stability was achieved even with additional operating expenses from recent acquisitions compared to the previous year.

During the July-September quarter, Adani Power secured significant new long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), including 2,400 MW from Bihar Discom, 1,600 MW from Madhya Pradesh Discom, and 570 MW from Karnataka Discom (expected by October 2025).

The company further expanded its portfolio by acquiring the 600 MW Vidarbha Industries Power Limited through the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process, bringing its total operational capacity to 18,150 MW.

SB Khyalia, CEO of Adani Power Limited, highlighted the company's performance: "Adani Power has once again demonstrated robust and stable financial performance this quarter, in the face of weather-driven fluctuations in demand, highlighting our operational efficiency and competitive advantages. We are steadily expanding our presence in the market by securing another 4.5 GW of new long-term PPAs under the SHAKTI scheme."

Khyalia further explained, "Our strong profitability and liquidity position us well to achieve our enhanced capacity expansion goal of 42 GW by 2031-32. We have already arranged ordering for equipment and land for the entire 23.7 GW expansion, with project implementation progressing rapidly."

The merchant and short-term sale volume for Q2 FY26 increased by 12.9 percent to 5.7 billion units compared to 5.0 billion units in Q2 FY25. Similarly, the merchant volume for H1 FY26 grew by 10.5 percent to 11.4 billion units, up from 10.3 billion units in H1 FY25.

"We are proud to play a pivotal role in India's power sector growth and stay strongly committed to supporting the nation's need for dependable, scalable, and sustainable electricity," Khyalia concluded.
