Police have stated an investigation is underway before taking action.
In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi, a 26-year-old woman was thrown from the roof of a two-storey building after refusing her husband's sexual advances.
Teeja, who resides in the Mau Ranipur police station area, explained that she married Mukesh Ahirwar in 2022 following their meeting at a temple. He had promised lifelong companionship and care. According to her account, their relationship remained harmonious for the first year, but subsequently, Ahirwar began staying away from home for lengthy periods and would subject her to physical abuse upon his return.
After a recent absence, Ahirwar returned home on Monday, physically assaulted her and forced himself upon her. The following day, Tuesday, he beat her again and attempted to coerce her into sexual activity, which she resisted. Teeja stated that her resistance enraged Ahirwar, who, along with his parents, threw her off the roof of their two-storey residence.
Local residents, alerted by Teeja's screams, discovered her injured on the ground and promptly transported her to the local health center. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was subsequently transferred to Jhansi Medical College.
According to police officials, Teeja is currently in stable condition, and they are investigating her allegations. An official stated, "Action will be taken after the investigation."
