Karnataka Congress Leader Arrested for Sexual Harassment and Photo Misuse: Complete Investigation Details

Congress leader Aditya, who formerly served as Youth Congress vice-president of Aldur Hobli in Chikkamagaluru city, has been arrested on serious charges of sexual harassment and misuse of a woman's photographs.

According to police statements released Wednesday, Aditya was taken into custody on Tuesday following allegations of sending inappropriate messages to multiple women, including wives of people he knows.

The arrest stems from a formal complaint filed by a woman residing in Jayanagar. In her statement, she claimed the harassment began after initially establishing a friendly connection with Aditya over telephone conversations. The situation escalated when he allegedly edited and distributed photographs obtained from her social media profiles without consent.

The complainant further stated that Aditya threatened her life when confronted about his behavior.

Prior to his arrest, a video circulating on social media shows Aditya being physically assaulted by local youths who confronted him at his residence in Adishakti Nagar over the allegations.

Chikkamagaluru City Police have registered case number 182/25 against Aditya under multiple legal provisions, including sections 75(2) and 78 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, sections 67 and 67(A) of the Information Technology Act, and section 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is currently in progress, though no separate complaint has been registered regarding the assault on Aditya himself.
