New Delhi:

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang continues its reign of terror in Canada. Recently, the gang took responsibility for the murder of an Indian-origin businessman in Abbotsford and an attack on a Punjabi singer's residence.

These incidents occurred just one day after authorities in Rajasthan apprehended Jagdeep Singh, also known as Jagga, an active Lawrence Bishnoi gang member, in the United States.

In a social media statement, Bishnoi gang associate Goldy Dhillon claimed responsibility for killing industrialist Darshan Singh Sahasi. The gang alleged that Sahasi, 68, was involved in substantial drug operations and had failed to meet their financial demands, resulting in his execution.

According to reports, Sahasi was fatally shot outside his residence in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on Monday morning.

Initial investigations indicate the assailant was waiting for Sahasi to approach his vehicle, which was parked roadside near his home.

As the 68-year-old entered his car, the attacker opened fire and quickly fled the scene.

When law enforcement arrived, they found Sahasi critically injured. Despite emergency responders' efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.

During the incident, three nearby educational institutions implemented lockdown procedures as a precautionary measure, though no students were harmed.

Sahasi, who immigrated to Canada in 1991, served as president of Canam International, a prominent textile recycling enterprise.

Initially working modest jobs after arriving in Canada, Sahasi later acquired part ownership in a struggling textile recycling operation, transforming it into an international business.

Beyond his business success, Sahasi was known for his philanthropic activities. His death has sparked grief and outrage within Abbotsford's Punjabi community.

Community leaders have described this incident as a significant threat to Indian immigrants' safety in Canada and have demanded prompt action from authorities.

In a separate incident, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang also claimed responsibility for gunfire outside Punjabi singer Channi Nattan's residence.

Gang member Dhillon stated on social media that the attack occurred because Nattan was associating with singer Sardar Khera.

Dhillon clarified that while the gang holds no personal grudge against Nattan, they warned that any performer collaborating with Khera would face consequences.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, officially designated as a terrorist organization by Canada, reportedly commands over 700 operatives worldwide.

The criminal organization has been implicated in several high-profile cases including the assassination of rapper and politician Sidhu Moosewala, threats against Bollywood actor Salman Khan, and alleged connections to the pro-Khalistan movement.
