Man Stabbed to Death After Defending Wife from Teen Molester in Delhi's Seemapuri

A 35-year-old man was fatally stabbed in northeast Delhi's Seemapuri area after he stepped in to resolve a dispute between his wife and a teenager who had allegedly molested her, according to police reports on Tuesday.

Police have arrested 18-year-old Muslin and his uncle in connection with the murder of Akbar Ali Mirza, a resident of New Seemapuri.

Authorities received an emergency call reporting a quarrel at approximately 11:56 PM on Monday at the Seemapuri police station.

According to the statement provided by Ali's wife Fareen, Muslin, who was acquainted with the family, directed abusive and inappropriate comments toward her. When she objected to his behavior, he continued verbally abusing her and physically assaulted her.

When Akbar Ali attempted to defuse the situation, Muslin's maternal uncle arrived to support the teenager and attacked Ali with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds, officials reported.

Ali was immediately transported to a nearby hospital where medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.

A senior police officer confirmed that both crime investigation and forensic science laboratory teams examined the scene and gathered evidence.

"We have registered a case under relevant sections related to molestation and murder. Two suspects, including the main assailant, have been detained," the officer stated.

Officials noted that Ali had previously been designated as a "bad character" by the Seemapuri police station. Investigators are still verifying the exact motive behind the deadly attack, and the investigation continues.

In her statement to PTI, Ali's wife Fareen said, "There were approximately eight to ten individuals present, including two women. Only two have been apprehended, while the others remain at large. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM. Muslin, who appeared intoxicated, is my friend's brother." She explained that while conversing with her friend, Muslin began speaking abusively to them. Fareen slapped him and asked him to leave, but he responded by pulling her hair.

"His mother came and took him inside the house, but he returned shortly after, resumed arguing, and gathered others. My husband was killed without any justification," she claimed.

The victim's mother, Aasma, shared that Ali was her only son.

"They severed his hand and killed him. By the time I arrived, he had already been transported to the hospital. There was blood covering his entire body," she recounted.

Salma, Ali's mother-in-law, told PTI, "My daughter had gone to intervene in a conflict between Muslin and her sister. They slapped my daughter and pulled her hair. I went there to calm the situation and was bringing my daughter home when Akbar arrived. The accused then retrieved weapons and killed him."
