Delhi Acid Attack Hoax: How Innocent Man Was Framed in Revenge Plot After Harassment Complaint

A Delhi man named Jitendra was falsely accused of an acid attack, but police investigation revealed it was a revenge plot by Aqeel Khan, whose daughter fabricated the incident using toilet cleaner to frame Jitendra after his wife filed sexual harassment charges against Khan. CCTV footage and mobile location data proved Jitendra's innocence in this complex case of deception and retribution.

My Family Framed In Fake Case: Man Who Was Accused Of Delhi 'Acid Attack' To NDTV

The Delhi Police have confirmed that the woman's family orchestrated the "conspiracy".

New Delhi:

In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Jitendra, who was wrongfully accused in a fabricated Delhi acid attack case, stated that his "family was framed in a fake case" and expressed his "complete faith in the judicial system."

The case began when a 20-year-old woman claimed on Sunday that she had suffered burn injuries while defending herself against an acid attack. She alleged that Jitendra, who she claimed had been stalking her, along with two accomplices named Ishaan and Armaan (brothers), threw an acid-like substance at her while she was en route to an extra class. However, investigations revealed the following day that the woman's father, Aqeel Khan, had manufactured the acid attack narrative specifically to frame Jitendra, whose wife had previously filed a harassment complaint against Khan.

Jitendra explained to NDTV that he was working in Karol Bagh when the supposed acid attack occurred—a fact subsequently verified through his mobile location data, CCTV footage, and witness testimonies.

He recounted receiving a call from his wife around 7:30 pm informing him about the incident and the allegations against him. Jitendra reported to the police station by 9:30 pm and maintained his innocence. The following day, police officers accompanied him to all locations he had visited, and after thorough verification of surveillance footage and call records, he was cleared of all accusations. Jitendra also confirmed that he had no prior knowledge of or connection to the two other men named as "accomplices" in the alleged attack.

Aqeel Khan, the woman's father, was apprehended by Delhi Police after briefly evading arrest. Upon questioning, Khan admitted that the burns on his daughter's hands were self-inflicted using toilet cleaner, not acid, and that she had fabricated her story at his direction as part of his revenge plot against Jitendra and his wife.

The harassment complaint that triggered this sequence of events was filed by Jitendra's wife, who had made an emergency call just two days before the alleged attack, reporting blackmail and harassment by Aqeel Khan. She stated that between 2021 and 2024, while employed at Khan's factory, he had sexually assaulted her and subsequently blackmailed her with compromising photos and videos.

Ravindra Yadav, Special Commissioner of Police for Law and Order with Delhi Police, confirmed: "The entire conspiracy has been exposed. Jitendra's wife complained of sexual harassment, so he was framed. Jitendra's location was confirmed to be in Karol Bagh during the incident. The girl had brought a spare kurti in her bag so that if her clothing became damaged, she could change. She had brought toilet cleaner from home."

Adding another layer to this complex case, the mother of the other two accused men—Arman and Ishan—has claimed that she was also attacked with acid back in 2018 by Khan's relatives, and had pursued legal action at that time, according to police statements.
