Chander's remains were discovered in a drainage channel on Sunday morning with his motorcycle situated nearby.

Faridabad:

On Monday, Faridabad Police apprehended a woman and her fiancé for allegedly murdering an insurance agent and disposing of his body in a local drain.

The victim, identified as Chander from Delhi's East Vinod Nagar, had reportedly been threatening the woman with blackmail to prevent her marriage to her fiancé, according to police statements.

Authorities found Chander's body in a drain early Sunday, with his motorcycle left in the vicinity.

An official investigation was initiated at Palla Police Station following a complaint filed by the victim's brother, Madan Gopal.

Following their investigation, police arrested 29-year-old Laxmi from southeast Delhi's Mithapur and her 26-year-old fiancé Keshav, a resident of Santosh Nagar in northeast Delhi's Burari. Both individuals admitted to the killing.

Police reports indicate that Chander had maintained a relationship with Laxmi for approximately five years.

After Laxmi became engaged to Keshav, Chander allegedly began blackmailing her, threatening to interfere with her upcoming marriage.

Distressed by the continuous blackmail, Laxmi and Keshav devised a plan to eliminate Chander.

"On October 25, Laxmi contacted Chander and arranged to meet him in Mithapur. She transported him via motorcycle to an isolated location near Etmadpur, where Keshav and two accomplices strangled Chander using a rope and inflicted head trauma. They subsequently disposed of his body in a drain to eliminate evidence," explained a Faridabad Police representative.

Law enforcement officials are currently conducting raids to capture the two remaining suspects involved in the crime.
